Christine Mooney

Christine Mooney is the Barsema Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at Northern Illinois University. She is the lead faculty for entrepreneurship and the co-founder and former director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Social Impact. Christine also serves on the board of Juvenile Protection Agency (JPA).

Christine’s research spans CEO succession, board decision-making, innovation, and impact investing. She has taught courses in strategic management, creativity and innovation, social entrepreneurship, business modeling, social venture consulting, and business planning. She has also served as a consultant, focusing on opportunity identification, strategic development and growth for entrepreneurial start-ups.

She earned her Ph.D. and Master of Business Administration  from Indiana University and her bachelor’s degree from Emory University. She lives in Geneva with her husband and two children.
